No, I haven't given up on my blog (yet), but I have been out of commission for a bit. On July 27th, I broke my lower arm (both bones). Went to the local ER (first mistake) to get it checked out. When asked if I've ever seen an orthopedist, I said no--since only Matthew has. Well, the ER doc said I could just see the on-call ortho & I said sure, whatever, I'm hurting (second mistake). Well, to cut to the chase, I was transferred to the hospital in town (David drove me) & had surgery late that night...a closed reduction with percutaneous pinning to be exact.
After two weeks in this stoopid cast, I am thoroughly irritated & so very ready to have it off. I shouldn't complain too much, as it is my left arm that is injured & thankfully, I'm a righty. But, I'm still having trouble bearing any significant weight and frustrating is the nicest way to put it.
But on a good note, school starts tomorrow & I can't wait for the kids to go back!!!
