I think I deserve a cookie

I started Christmas shopping today (hey, it's a full week earlier than in past years, so get off my back about it). I must say I was quite pleased with how calmly I behaved today. Usually, large crowds and commotion freak me out, but not today. I was mostly impressed with how well I didn't go off on the clerk at the Sprint store. I mean, it's not her fault the computers were responding slowly, it's not her fault that 7 other people decided to buy a new phone at the exact same time I did. So what was the point? Any rational person could answer these questions...but we all know rationality and Cyndy do not always a successful cocktail make.

Instead, I utilized the wait time, reflected a bit on how lucky I am to be in a store buying a material (and sometimes crippling) device such as a cell phone. Even though my Christmas budget is not as expansive as I would like for it to be, at least I have a Christmas budget. I tried to hold on to that satisfaction throughout the day, be it dodging idiots on the road, navigating the hoards and the clearance bins, or trying to run from the crying baby & it's apparently DEAF mother in Target (why must these people shop the same aisle as me during my entire trip?). But I didn't get frustrated or lose my cool or call anyone a dumb-ass (out loud) today, and that's worth a cookie. At least for me it is.
