`Tis the Season

No, not for the traditional Winter Holiday Cheer. It's Spring time (although lately the temperature outside is closer to Summer...aaahhh, Alabama weather!), which means it's the season for new growth.

I have a special affinity for anything that alludes to growth. Just the word itself lends a certain aspect of hope and optimism, which for a "woe-is-me" personality, I desperately need at times. One of my favorite definitions:

GROW: 1. to arise or issue as a natural development from an original
happening, circumstance, or source
2. to come to be by degrees; become

ARISE...I like that. Like a Phoenix from the ashes. I'm constantly amazed at how I beat myself down, let others dictate my self-worth, or forget to count my daily blessings. My friend Stephanie bought me the coffee cup and I absolutely love it.
It's a wonderful reminder that I am strong enough to get through things, no matter how insurmountable they might seem at the time. Also, despite the avalanche of emotion that sometimes overtakes me, I will arise and become. I encourage everyone to remember everyday that it is okay to GROW.
